It is with deep sorrow, we report the passing of Ray Dando, peacefully in his sleep, aged 92.

Ray was a coach driver with Epsom Coaches, for many years.  He tackled most kinds of work, but will be especially remembered for driving the Bristol LHS fleet of 33 seaters, with the small groups those coaches attracted.  Those who go that far back, will remember the Bristols were hard work to drive, especially in London, given their heavy controls, but Ray as a professional made it look easy.

Ray eventually lost his licence through a medical condition, but he was retained by the firm, to look after the fleet. Ironically, despite according to the authorities his not being fit to drive, Ray proved that he was more than up to hard manual work.   His long life, was further testament to his fitness, defying the years.

We have lost a great servant of the firm, who quietly went about his duties without fuss and a commensurate professional who just got on with the job.

We send our sincere condolences to Ray’s family and friends.
